3.13. Removal of a chain and asterisks of the drive of the camshaft

We uncover heads of the block of cylinders (see. "Replacement of laying of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders").

We turn a bent shaft clockwise until coincidence of a tag on a camshaft asterisk with a tag on the case of bearings of the camshaft (see. "Check and adjustment of thermal gaps in the drive of valves").

We take off a belt of the drive of the pump of cooling liquid (see. "Adjustment of a tension and replacement of a belt of the drive of the pump of cooling liquid on the car with the VAZ-2106 engine"). We remove a pulley of a bent shaft (see. "Replacement of a forward epiploon of a bent shaft").

Having weakened a chain tension, we remove a camshaft asterisk (see. "Removal of the camshaft and levers of the drive of valves"). We remove a chain from a camshaft asterisk.

We turn off three bolts of fastening of the pallet of a case to a camshaft drive cover (see. "Replacement of laying of the pallet of a case").

For descriptive reasons operations on removal of a chain are shown on the dismantled engine.

Key "on 10" we turn off three nuts and six bolts of fastening of a cover of the drive of the camshaft to the block of cylinders of the engine.

We uncover the camshaft drive.

Connection is condensed with laying.

Key "on 17" we turn off a bolt of fastening of a boot of a natyazhitel of a chain...

... also we take off a boot.

To small beards we unbend edge of a lock washer of a bolt of fastening of an asterisk of the roller of the drive of auxiliary units...

... a key "on 17" we turn off a bolt...

... we take out a bolt with washers

... also we remove an asterisk of the roller of the drive of auxiliary units.

Key "on 10" we turn away a restrictive finger of a chain and we remove it.

We take out a camshaft drive chain.

By stripper it is pressed from a sock of a bent shaft an asterisk...

... also we remove it.

The asterisk is fixed on cranked to a shaft by a segment spline. If necessary...

... carefully, trying not to damage a spline and a shaft, to small beards or a drift from soft metal we beat out a spline from a groove.

We take out a spline.

Before installation of a chain...

... we combine a tag on an asterisk of a bent shaft with a tag on the block of cylinders...

... and a tag on a camshaft asterisk - with a tag on the case of bearings.

We establish camshaft drive details in the return sequence. At installation of a cover of the drive of the camshaft with an epiploon of a nut of fastening of a cover we tighten only after installation of a pulley of a bent shaft.

We pull a chain (see. "Adjustment of a tension of a chain of the drive of the camshaft"). Having turned a bent shaft clockwise on two turns, we check coincidence of adjusting tags. After installation of the distributor of ignition we check and if necessary we regulate an ignition advancing corner (see. "Adjustment of the moment of ignition").
