Elimination methods

The bent shaft is not turned by a starter

The rechargeable battery is discharged

At inclusion of a starter from under a cowl the crash can be distributed. Tension on conclusions of the rechargeable battery at the switched-off consumers is lower than 12B

Charge the battery; if it is not loaded — replace

Decrease in capacity of the rechargeable battery

Tension on conclusions of the rechargeable battery at the switched-off consumers is more than 12 V, but at inclusion of a starter lower than 6-8 Century fall. At the same time from under a cowl the crash can be distributed

Charge the battery with small current (no more than 1 And); if capacity nevertheless is insufficient - replace

Oxidation of conclusions of the rechargeable battery, unreliable contact of conclusions with plugs of wires

When turning the ignition key in situation "starter" the traction relay does not work (there is no click under a cowl). Check whether +12 V on the operating contact of the traction relay move at the same time

Smooth out, press out tips of wires; replace the faulty switch of ignition or its contact part, the faulty relay of inclusion of a starter

The traction relay of a starter is faulty: short circuit or break in the involving winding, jamming of an anchor of the relay (an anchor distortion, pollution of surfaces, corrosion, etc.)

When turning a key in situation "starter" on the operating contact of the traction relay moves +12 V, but the traction relay does not work (there is no click under a cowl). Remove a starter, the relay, check its work

Replace the faulty traction relay

Contacts of the traction relay or wires, bad contact with "weight" are oxidized

At inclusion of a starter the click under a cowl is heard, but the anchor of a starter does not rotate. Check an ohmmeter chain resistance "the accumulator battery starter" including a wire of "weight". If chains are serviceable, remove a starter and check operation of its relay

Check whether stress from the operating contact of the relay of a starter at an ignition key otpuskaniye is removed, whether the key comes back to situation "ignition". Disconnection of contacts of the switch of ignition can be checked an ohmmeter. If tension on the traction relay of a starter disappears at switching off of ignition, remove and sort a starter for check

The bent shaft is turned by a starter very slowly. Tension between conclusions of the rechargeable battery is normal (see above).

If there is cold weather, and the day before the engine worked steadily and without extraneous noises, most likely, the reason of the increased resistance to rotation — the stiffened oil. In this case it is possible to try to launch the engine by means of the second rechargeable battery. After start-up do not allow operation of the engine on high turns and you watch a control lamp of pressure of oil: at its fire on the working engine immediately stop it for 1-2 minutes that the thickened oil managed to flow down in the pallet.

If at start-up or operation of the engine extraneous noises are heard, check free rotation of pulleys of the pump of cooling liquid and the generator. At extraneous noises in a zone of the block or a head of the block of cylinders disassemble the engine

Use engine oil according to climatic conditions. When jamming the pump of cooling liquid replace a pump cover with a krylchatka [In] or all pump [U], when jamming the generator — the bearing or the generator assembled.

In case of zadir on shaft, inserts, details of tsilindroporshnevy group, deformation of shaft, replace faulty details, find out and remove the cause of their failure

Malfunction in a chain of low voltage of system of ignition

Check the voltmeter whether supply voltage on the ignition coil moves. If is not present, check an ohmmeter a chain from the rechargeable battery to the ignition coil (via the ignition switch) and the distributor

Smooth out the oxidized tips, tighten the weakened fastenings of wires, replace the damaged wires, the switch of ignition or its contact part, the relay of inclusion of ignition

The contact group of the breaker is faulty: the gap between contacts is not adjusted, contacts are damaged or greasy, the spring of mobile contact weakened

Survey. The gap between contacts is checked by the flat probe

Adjust a gap (see. "System of ignition of the engine UEPA-331"; "System of ignition of the VAZ-2106 engine"). Smooth out worn-out contacts a file, check their parallelism, lack of shift, remove dirt and oil. When weakening a spring, jamming or strong wear of contacts replace contact group

The ignition distributor condenser is faulty

Take out the central wire from a cover of the distributor and fix its tip at distance of 5-6 mm from "mass" of the car. At the included ignition manually disconnect contacts of the breaker, slightly turning the distributor roller for a rotor. If between a tip of a wire and "weight" the noticeable blue spark slips and the click is heard, the condenser is serviceable. If the spark weak, threadlike or is absent at all, close contacts by the screw-driver - strengthening of a spark in this case will indicate malfunction of the condenser

Replace the faulty condenser

Damage of isolation of high-voltage devices and chains (lack of sparking)

Having reliably fixed the end of a high-voltage wire at distance of 5-6 mm from "mass" of the car, include a starter (do not touch high-voltage chains!). Between a wire and "weight" the spark (has to slip regularly at obviously serviceable high-voltage wires, the condenser and contacts of the breaker). If the spark is absent on an ignition coil conclusion - the coil is faulty if on ignition distributor conclusions/conclusions - the rotor or a cover of the distributor are faulty. Breakdown of a rotor or cover is determined by progara or cracks on their surface. Serviceability of the resistor of a rotor (1 kOhm) is checked by an ohmmeter

Elements of system of ignition should be kept clean. Faulty replace the ignition coil, the punched cover and a rotor of the distributor, the fused rotor resistor, the damaged high-voltage wires. Under trying conditions (salt on roads, the frosts alternating with thaw) it is desirable for operation to replace wires time in 3-5 years.

Faulty candles

The faulty candle, as a rule, can be determined by color of a deposit on the insulator (see at the end of the section "Diagnostics"). Lack of external damages and sparking between electrodes on the turned-out candle do not allow to draw a conclusion on its working capacity

At a long provorachivaniye of a bent shaft of the engine a starter from an exhaust pipe does not smell of gasoline. In the float-operated camera of the carburetor there is no gasoline - when pressing "gas" from a spray of the accelerating pump there is no fuel stream

Go into the car in a warm garage in the winter, blow (the tire pump) a power supply system from the fuel pump to a gasoline tank, having opened a cover of a bulk mouth; replace the fuel pump or its diaphragms, the damaged hoses and tubes

The EPHH electropneumatic valve is faulty or on it +12 V at inclusion of ignition do not arrive

Replace the faulty valve, provide contact in electric chains. It is temporarily possible to connect a tube the carburetor pneumatic valve union to the union of an inlet pipe

The carburetor pneumatic valve diaphragm is damaged

Check integrity of a diaphragm, having created depression in a pneumatic valve cavity a rubber pear or a mouth (through a pure rubber tube)

Replace a faulty pneumatic valve

The starting arrangement of the carburetor or its drive are faulty or are not adjusted

The reenriched mix because of a gasoline effluence in an engine case through the torn diaphragm of the fuel pump

Oil on the probe smells of gasoline, the lamp of emergency pressure of oil on low turns of the engine can light up

The engine is easily launched in cold weather, but right there stops

The starting arrangement of the carburetor is faulty or is not adjusted: the air gate is not slightly opened at the first flashes in cylinders

Survey at uncovered the case of the air filter (do not bring closer the person - the flash is possible!). Indirect check - at a pulling of the handle of control of the air gate on the heated-up engine it stops at once and started up hardly

The engine is launched long

Gasoline from the float-operated camera of the carburetor evaporated (after the long parking, especially in hot weather)

 

After the long parking pump up gasoline the lever of manual pumping of the fuel pump

The engine works unstably or becomes deaf idling

Fuel-supply lines, fuel filters are littered, water got to fuel

Blow fuel-supply lines, without removing filters

Clear a grid of the petrolreceiver and fuel filters, replace the filter of thin purification of fuel (if it is established). At suspicion on availability of water in gasoline, especially on the eve of a winter season, add to fuel one of the special structures connecting water (after use of structure it is recommended to wash out or replace fuel filters)

The gap between electrodes of candles does not meet standard

The gap is checked by the round probe

Establish the necessary gap by a podgibaniye of a side electrode or replace candles

Strong deposit on electrodes of spark plugs; hit of particles of a deposit in a gap between electrodes

Survey. It is possible to determine by a deposit, as a rule, operability of a candle and a condition of the engine (see at the end of the section "Diagnostics")

Clear candles compressed air or mechanically (do not damage the insulator!). Establish and eliminate the reason of the raised nagaroobrazovaniye in the combustion chamber, if necessary replace candles

Spark plugs are faulty: leakage of current on cracks in the insulator or on a deposit on a thermal cone, bad contact in assembly of the central electrode

Low compression in engine cylinders (less than 10 kgfs/cm2): wear or damage of valves or their saddles; wear, bedding or breakage of piston rings

Warm up the engine up to the working temperature and turn out candles. Press a pedal of "gas" to the full and, inserting into candle openings êîìïðåññîìåòð, turn a bent shaft a starter (work together). At the same time it is necessary to close a high-voltage wire of the coil of ignition on "weight". Repeat measurements, the gulf in cylinders through candle openings of 10-15 cm3 of engine oil. In those cylinders where the compression increased more, than on 2 kgfs/cm2, perhaps, rings are strongly worn-out, broken or lay. If the compression remained lower than 10 kgfs/cm2, wear or damage of valves or their saddles is possible

Replace rings, pistons. Repair cylinders on HUNDRED. Grind in valves to saddles, if necessary replace valves, them the directing plugs, pierce saddles on HUNDRED

Jets and channels of the carburetor are littered. Jets are leaky wrapped

Elements of system of ignition should be kept clean. Faulty replace the ignition coil, the punched cover and a rotor of the distributor, the fused rotor resistor, the damaged high-voltage wires. Under trying conditions (salt on roads, the frosts alternating with thaw) it is desirable for operation to replace wires time in 3-5 years.
