19.8.2. Check of the generator

On the working engine we lead up turns of a bent shaft up to 3000 min.-1 and we include the maximum number of consumers (driving beam of headlights, an element of heating of back glass, the heater electric fan, etc.). We measure tension between a conclusion "30" generators 37,3701 (a conclusion "+" the generator 58.3701) and the generator case. Tension has to be in limits of 13,5-14,6 Century. If tension does not keep within these limits, tension regulator, brush knot can be faulty, contact rings of a winding of excitement are oxidized or one of windings of the generator is closed on "weight".

The removed regulator of tension of the generator 58.3701 can be checked, having connected a lamp (1 — 3 W, 12B) between conclusions "Ø" and "In", and the metal basis of the regulator - to "minus of the power supply of a direct current. When giving on conclusions of "B" and "In" voltage of 12 V the lamp has to burn, and when giving voltage of 15-16 V — to go out. If the lamp in both cases does not burn or burns constantly, the regulator of tension is faulty and demands replacement. For check of the regulator of tension of the generator 37.3701 we connect a lamp (1-3 W, 12 V) to brushes. We connect "minus" of the power supply (direct current) to "mass" contact of the regulator. When giving on a conclusion "In" voltage of 12 V the lamp has to burn, and when giving voltage of 15-16 V — to go out. If the lamp in both cases does not burn or burns constantly, the regulator of tension is faulty and demands replacement.

Check of other knots on generators 58.3701 and 37.3701 is carried out almost similarly (it is described on the example of the generator 37.3701).

It is possible to check serviceability of gates of the vypryamitelny block on the car, previously having disconnected wires from the rechargeable battery, the generator and a conclusion of the regulator of tension. We connect "plus" of the rechargeable battery through a lamp (1-3 W, 12 V) to a conclusion "30" generators, and "minus" — to its case. If the lamp burns, then in both blocks of gates ("positive" and "negative") — short circuit.

For check of short circuit in the block of "positive" plus gates of the battery through the same lamp we connect to a conclusion "30" generators, and "minus" — to a conclusion of one of phase windings of the stator or one of bolts of fastening of the vypryamitelny block. If the lamp burns, then one or several gates are punched.

For check of short circuit in "negative" plus gates of the battery through a lamp we connect to a conclusion of one of phase windings of the stator, and "minus" - to the generator case. If the lamp burns, one or several gates are punched or windings close on the generator case. For check of windings on short circuit we remove the generator from the car (see. "Removal and dismantling of the generator 58.3701" and "Removal and dismantling of the generator 37.3701") we also disconnect windings from the regulator of tension and the vypryamitelny block. We check serviceability of windings a lamp or an ohmmeter. Gates of the generator can also be checked an ohmmeter, connecting it instead of a control lamp and the rechargeable battery as it is described above. We check short circuit of additional gates of the generator 37.3701, connecting battery "plus" through a lamp to a conclusion of "61" generators, and "minus" — to one of phase windings of the stator. If Pampas burns, one or several additional gates are punched. Malfunction of each gate can be checked a lamp or an ohmmeter separately (on the removed vypryamitelny block). At failure of one or several gates it is better to replace the vypryamitelny block assembled.
